Richard Grathoff
Richard Helmut Grathoff (born August 30, 1934 in Unna , Westphalia ; † November 10, 2013 in Oerlinghausen , Lippe ) was a German phenomenologist and professor of sociology at Bielefeld University .
Life
Grathoff received his PhD from the New School for Social Research , New York in 1969 after studying under Aron Gurwitsch, Thomas Luckmann and Peter L. Berger . Influenced by Charles Peirce , Edmund Husserl , Albert Salomon and Alfred Schütz . His research includes, among other things, studies in milieu and living environment . He lived in Oerlinghausen from 1978 until his death in 2013.
