Then he stayed until 1715 in Venice, where he served as a kind of home-librettist for the time of Antonio Vivaldi performed Teatro Sant'Angelo wrote a total of nine other opera librettos. His best-known work is the Orlando furioso based on the epic The mad Roland by Ludovico Ariosto . It was initially set to music by Giovanni Alberto Ristori in 1713 and revised by Vivaldi the following year. In 1727 Vivaldi created a new version of this opera with the title Orlando . Various pasticcio versions were also created. Vivaldi himself also set his libretto Orlando finto pazzo to music in 1714 .

After his return to Ferrara, Braccioli did not write any further opera libretti, but worked in other literary fields. He was in Ferrara under the pseudonym "Nigello Preteo" member of the local branch of the Accademia dell'Arcadia .

In his libretti he used episodes from the epic works of Ariosto, Matteo Maria Boiardo and Torquato Tasso . They are characterized by imagination and ingenuity and, despite the reform efforts of the time, still retain some characteristics of the respective template.
