The water drains into Green Creek and across the Sandusky Bay of Lake Erie to the catchment area of the St. Lawrence River . Jacob Stem used the power of water to operate sawmills and grain mills . The spring soon became a healing spring for all kinds of diseases. The entrepreneur Robert Smith had the water analyzed in 1868. A high proportion of calcium sulfate and magnesium sulfate was found.
