Gregor von Stralendorff
Gregor von Stralendorff (born August 30, 1842 in Düsseldorf ; † July 8, 1918 in Berlin ) was a German architect and lecturer .
life and work
Stralendorff, son of the painter Carl Friedrich von Stralendorff , attended high school in Frankfurt / M . In 1863/64 he studied at the Polytechnic in Zurich and in 1864/65 at the Polytechnic in Karlsruhe . In 1867/68 he visited the master workshop Hermann Nicolai at the Academy of the Arts in Dresden , 1869/70 the studio Jäger in Paris and 1871/72 the studio in Narva .
In 1872 he went to Berlin as a private builder, got a job with Ernst Klingenberg at the Königstadt building association and worked again as a private builder from 1875 to 1883. During this time, houses were built at Pariser Platz 3 and Lessingstrasse 52 as well as his own house at Schillerstrasse 8. In 1877/78 he traveled to Italy. On June 8, 1879, when he returned to Berlin, he co-founded the Association of Berlin Architects . In 1883 he became director of the building trade school in Berlin and in 1915 a trade school councilor.
