Gregorio Lazzarini (* 1655 in Venice , † 1730 in Villabona ) was an Italian painter .

Life

Lazzarini was born in Venice in 1655 as the son of a men's hairdresser . He lived and worked there well into old age. His artistic training began with Francesco Rosa . Then he became a student of Gerolamo Forabosco and Pietro della Vecchia also had an influence on his development. Lazzarini opened a studio in San Pietro di Castello and became a popular painter. He created numerous frescoes in palaces in Venice and villas in the rest of Veneto . He also received commissions from outside Italy, including from the Princes of Liechtenstein and the Counts of Schönborn . Lazzarini's students included Giovanni Battista Tiepolo , Antonio Bellucci , Gaspare Diziani, and Giuseppe Camerata .

Gregorio Lazzarini was on Portrait - Mythology specialized and history issues, and one of the artists of Venice anerkanntesten for youth Tiepolo and one of the leading painters of Venice of the 17th century . He spent his last years in his retirement home in Villabona, where he died in 1730.
