Borderline

f1Georeferencing Map with all coordinates: OSM | WikiMap From the Atlantic in the west, the Kunene forms the natural border between Angola and Namibia, roughly to the villages of Mucusso (Angola) and Mukwe (Namibia). To the east of this the borderline corresponds to Article III of the Treaty between the German Empire and the United Kingdom on the Colonies and Heligoland of July 1, 1890 along a straight line that forms the northern boundary of the Namibian Caprivi Strip .

Border crossings

Angola and Namibia have eight (as of 2018) border crossings on their common border. Two more are planned (as of 2014).

Time zone boundary

The border between Angola and Namibia also forms a time zone boundary (Angola: UTC + 1 , Namibia UTC + 2 ). This is unusual in that time zones are usually more aligned with the meridians (in a north-south direction), whereas the border between Angola and Namibia runs in a west-east direction. The time zone of Namibia has been adjusted several times ( legal time in Namibia ).
