Greta Thyssen ; actually Greta Thysegen (born March 30, 1927 in Hareskovby , Copenhagen , Denmark ; † January 6, 2018 in Manhattan , New York City ) was a Danish- American film actress and a pin-up girl.

Career

The beauty queen Greta Thyssen moved from Copenhagen to Los Angeles in the early 1950s to work as a photo model and actress. In the wake of the success of Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield , the former brunette model now appeared as a platinum blonde, curvy sex bomb and posed successfully as a pin-up girl for numerous photo and men's magazines. Thyssen made her debut in an insignificant supporting role in the film Bus Stop in 1956 , where she also acted as a double for the leading actress Marilyn Monroe. In 1958, the glamor girl was seen twice in the short films of the Three Stooges and in 1959 made another film with the comedian troupe. Thyssen also appeared on Broadway in the play Pajama Tops , and made headlines in the tabloids with her romance with movie star Cary Grant . In 1967 she had her last film role in Cottonpickin 'Chickenpickers and after the birth of her daughter Genevieve Juliette in 1969 she largely withdrew into private life. Greta Thyssen lived in New York.
