The Gretengraben is the right source stream of the Mümling in the Odenwaldkreis in Hesse . It unites in Hetzbach with the Walterbach . The Walterbach is often referred to as Mümling throughout and the Gretengraben is then viewed as a tributary of the Mümling.

The Gretengraben rises in the flat saddle area around Beerfelden of the valley line running south-north and used by the federal highway 45 about half a kilometer northeast of the outskirts at the foot of the 518 m above sea level. NHN high Elseberg . It flows in a northerly direction and deepens the hollow of the Gretengrund .
It unites on the southwestern outskirts of Hetzbach with the roughly equal and somewhat longer left Walterbach to Mümling .
