The Griesmauer is a mountain stick in the Styrian Northern Limestone Alps and is one of the Alpine Club classification of the Eastern Alps to the Hochschwab group . The Griesmauer runs in an approximately 3.2 km long arc from southwest to northeast and has three main peaks: the Vordernberger Griesmauer ( 2014 m above sea level ), the TAC peak ( 2019 m above sea level ) and the highest peak Griesmauerkogel ( 2034 m above sea level ), which is also known as the Eisenerzer Griesmauer. The Bergstock lies on the border of the three communities Eisenerz , Tragöß-Sankt Katharein and Vordernberg .
ways
The two southern peaks of Vordernberger Griesmauer and TAC-Spitze can be climbed via the normal route from the southwest from the Präbichl and from the northwest from the Eisenerzer Gsollkehre. The two paths meet at the Hirscheggsattel at 1699 m above sea level. A. A short via ferrata of difficulty A / B leads to the summit of the TAC peak.
The north and north-west side offer short but difficult climbing routes such as the Henschelriss ( UIAA -VI ) named after its first ascent . The most popular climbing tours on the Griesmauer are the so-called “Grattürme”, also called “Fledermausgrat” (different variants between UIAA III and IV +). The five turrets can be reached from the Hirscheggsattel in a few minutes.
There is no signposted path to the Griesmauerkogel.
