Griet Op de Beeck (born August 22, 1973 in Turnhout ) is a Flemish - Belgian writer.

Life

Griet Op de Beeck worked from 1994 to 2004 as a dramaturge in the “Compagnie De Koe” and in the program of the European Capital of Culture Bruges 2002 for the Antwerp Toneel Theater. Then she went to Germany with Luk Perceval . From 2004 to 2008 she worked for the television program magazine HUMO . Since then she has been writing for the daily De Morgen and has had a column in the Saturday edition there since 2013.

Op de Beeck published the novel Vele hemels boven de zevende in 2013 . The novel was on the long list of the AKO Literatuurprijs , it won the De Bronzen Uil audience award and was nominated for the Academica Literatuurprijs in 2014.

The book Come here and let me kiss you (2014) became a bestseller, selling 200,000 times in the first year.

Op de Beeck writes the Boekenweek present for the Dutch Book Week ( boekenweek ) in March 2018 .
