The Grimmershörn is a German survey ship .
history
The ship, commissioned by the Mechanical Engineering Department North , was built in 2009. The ship was equipped by Ms. Fassmer in Berne / Motzen. The ship was christened and commissioned on December 18, 2009 . Godmother was Sabine Schulz, administrative clerk at the Cuxhaven Waterways and Shipping Authority .
The ship replaced the Greif , which was decommissioned at the beginning of 2011 . The ship is named after the Cuxhaven district of the same name .
commitment
The ship is used by the Cuxhaven Waterways and Shipping Office for surveying tasks on the North Sea and Elbe , including the creation of bearing plans in the area of the Lower and Outer Elbe. An average of 16,000 bearing kilometers are driven annually.
Technical data and equipment
The vessel is powered by a Cummins - diesel engine (type: KTA 36) with a power of 969 kW driven, acting on a fixed propeller. The ship reaches a speed of 14 knots . Two Cummins generators with an output of 265 and 78 kW are available for the power supply. For the surveying tasks, the ship is u. a. Equipped with a fan echo sounder and a single swinging echo sounder . There is space for five people in five cabins on board. The regular crew of the ship consists of four people.
