The Baumrönne is a buoy laying machine for the Federal Republic of Germany.

history

The ship was built 1991–1993 under the construction number 173 at the former aluminum shipyard in Lübeck . The keel was laid on July 29, 1991, the launch on December 7, 1992. The ship was completed in April 1993.

The ship is named after a former priel near Groden , today part of the Grodener Wetter.

commitment

The ship is mainly used by the Cuxhaven Waterways and Shipping Authority for launching and recovering smaller fairway buoys, setting pricks , checking navigation signs and providing fixed navigation signs . Through the in Catamaran execution-built hull , the ship that has m only a small depth of about 1.3 can in tidal flats fall dry .

In addition to its use as a buoy laying ship and navigation sign ship, the Baumrönne can take on water science tasks such as water level and flow measurements or the taking of water samples. It can also be used as an auxiliary ship in the event of an accident and as a fire fighting ship. For this it is equipped with a gas protection system that enables use in a dangerous atmosphere. The ship is equipped with a fire monitor, which is located above the observation deck .

Technical data and equipment

The ship is powered by two eight-cylinder - four stroke - diesel engines of manufacturer MTU Friedrichshafen (type: 8 V 396 TE), each with 680  kW power driven. The motors work via gears on two fixed propellers equipped with Kort nozzles . The ship reaches a speed of 13  knots .

For the power supply, the ship has a shaft generator with 340  kVA apparent power and a diesel generator with 66 kVA apparent power. In the bow of the ship, a cross- jet control system is installed, which is designed as a water jet drive. The ship has ice class "E".

There is a crane with an articulated boom on the aft deck. The crane has a capacity of 2 t with a radius of 8.6 m. The ship has two measuring jibs for water science tasks. There is a rubber dinghy on board, which is intended for work in mud flats.
