The Große Schlicke is a 2059  m high mountain in the Tannheimer Alps in Tyrol . The summit allows a view of the wild north faces of the Tannheimer Gimpel ( 2173  m ), Rote Flüh ( 2108  m ), Kellenspitze ( 2238  m ) and Gehrenspitze ( 2164  m ). On the north side, the silt consists exclusively of high, almost vertically sloping craggy walls; the south side is characterized by steep grass slopes and mountain pine belts .

Ascent

Two climbs, which meet about 100 meters below the summit, lead to the south side of the mountain and there in hairpin bends up the steep, sometimes rocky meadows. The starting point of the western climb is the Vilser Scharte at an altitude of 1817  m , which can be reached from the west from the Füssener Jöchl (cable car from Grän ) or from the north from the Vilser Alm. The southern path leads from the Otto Mayr Hut in the Reintal to the summit. Surefootedness is required to conquer the last steep slope that leads up to the summit. In winter, the southern ascent to the Großer Schlicke is a popular ski tour .
