from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1958 Paris Grand Prix , also known as the Paris GP (Prix de Paris), Circuit de Montlhéry, Paris , took place on June 15, 1958 at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry .

The race

In 1958, a sports car race was held in Montlhéry under the name of the Paris Grand Prix. The distance of just 70 kilometers and the resulting driving time of 36 minutes was very short for a sports car race. Jean-Claude Vidilles won the race in a Ferrari 250 GT .

The sports cars with a displacement of up to 2 liters, which, with a total distance of 25 laps, had to cover three more laps than the other racing classes, were rated separately. Brian Naylor secured this ranking in a JBW with a Maserati engine, ahead of Fernand Tavano in a Ferrari 500TRC and Bill Frost in a Lotus 15 .
