Robert Bouharde is a former French rally driver and circuit driver .
Career
He began his motorsport career in the late 1950s at national rallies in France. In 1960 he made his debut at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the Monte Carlo Rally . Since his attempts to gain a foothold in monoposto racing had little success - in 1962 he competed in a few Formula 2 races in a Cooper T56 - from 1963 he only drove sports car races and rallies.
After his debut in 1961, he competed five more times at Le Mans. He contested the races in 1961, 1963 and 1964 for René Bonnet's team , and from 1965 he was a works driver for Alpine . His best placement for Bonnet was 14th overall in 1963, which he achieved together with Bruno Basini in the René Bonnet Aérodjet.
At Alpine he drove the A110 in rallies and the Alpine A210 in circuit races. Twelfth place in Le Mans in 1966 was the best overall result with the small but fast racing car. Bouharde was a prudent and level-headed racing driver whom his team-mates held in high regard.
