The Société des Automobiles René Bonnet was a French manufacturer of automobiles .
Company history
After René Bonnet parted company with Charles Deutsch and Deutsch & Bonnet , he founded his own company in 1961. The location was at 160 avenue du Général-de-Gaulle in Champigny-sur-Marne . In 1962 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was René Bonnet . Production ended in 1964 when Matra took over the company.
vehicles
The company manufactured sports cars and racing cars. Bonnet used four-cylinder engines from Renault . The street models Missile , Le Mans and Djet were offered . The first two were front-wheel drive . The missile engine with a displacement of 845 cm³ developed 55 hp . The Le Mans had a larger and more powerful engine with a displacement of 1108 cc and 65 to 75 hp. In the Djet , the engine was installed in the middle of the car . There was a choice of engines with 996 cm³ displacement and 80 hp as well as 1108 cm³ displacement and 60 to 65 hp. The Djet continued to be produced after the takeover by Matra and was marketed as Matra Djet.
