The SA De Leotard was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Christian de Léotard ran a workshop in Asnières-sur-Seine . In 1978 he started producing automobiles. The brand name was Léotard . It is not known when production ended.

The company made vehicles with six driven wheels. The first model was based on the Renault 5 . The chassis had been lengthened in the rear area to accommodate the third axle. The body was also longer. The vehicle length was 421 cm. Nevertheless, the vehicle only had two side doors plus a large tailgate. The roof was higher in the rear. The curb weight was given as 980 kg. One source states that production of this model ended around 1984.

The Range Rover has also been lengthened and equipped with six wheels.

In the mid-1980s, Mercedes-Benz G-Class vehicles formed the basis. Here, too, the vehicle was made longer by adding a third axle. As far as is known, box vans and pickups with double cabs were built . The vehicles were also used in rallies .

Vehicles based on Citroën , Land Rover , Mercedes-Benz 190 and Renault were also created .
