International Motors Cars , previously Études Design Développement et Diffusion des Produits sarl , was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Robert Sulpice, who previously worked as a designer at Renault , and Jean-Louis Cariou founded the company Études Design Développement et Diffusion des Produits sarl in Roissy-en-Brie in 1982 and began producing automobiles. The brand name was E 3 D . In 1986 International Motors Cars took over production from Les Lilas . Production ended around 1992.

The company presented the Jeepie model as a prototype . In the production version, the model was called Chipie . It was an open leisure car that resembled the jeep . The basis was the shortened chassis from the Renault 4 . The four-cylinder engine of the Renault 4 with 1108 cm³ displacement and 34 hp provided the drive . The body was made of polyester . The kit cost 15,000 French francs .
