Automobiles Grandin SA , previously Automobiles Dallas , was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

Jean-Claude Hrubon, who also headed Société Hrubon , founded Automobiles Dallas in Neuilly-sur-Seine in 1981 and began manufacturing automobiles. The brand name was Dallas . In 1984 the company was renamed Automobiles Grandin SA when the singer Frank Alamo (born Jean-François Grandin) took over the company. In the same year the company moved to Marne-la-Vallée . Production ended in 1998. A total of around 5000 vehicles were built.

The company made small off-road vehicles that resembled the jeep . Initially, the vehicles were built on the chassis of the Renault 4 , optionally with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive . The engine had a displacement of 1108 cm³ . The vehicle was 297 cm long and weighed 630 kg. In 1982 the new prices were 35,000 French francs for the front-wheel drive and 52,000 francs for the all-wheel drive. In 1986 the Dallas II model came out. The mechanics now came from the Peugeot 205 . There was a choice of gasoline and diesel engines . The open body was made of fiberglass and offered space for four people. A hard top was available as an option.
