Roussey Frères was a French manufacturer of bicycles , motorcycles and automobiles .

Company history

Peter and Paul Roussey founded the company in 1931. The location was at Quai de Belfort 15-17 in Dijon . The production of bicycles and motorcycles began. The company was later located at 19 rue Baudreuil in Meudon . Automobiles were made between 1948 and 1950 . The brand name was Roussey . Production ended in 1956.

Two-wheelers

Between 1931 and 1934, motorcycles with built-in engines from Aub , Chaisse and Staub with a displacement of 100 cm³ to 500 cm³ were made . From 1948 a single-cylinder engine with 50 cm³ displacement was manufactured, which could be mounted as an auxiliary engine on bicycles. The transmission had two gears. In 1952 a scooter with a single tube frame followed.

Automobiles

The only model was a two-door, four-seat sedan , which was presented at the Paris Motor Show in both October 1948 and October 1949 . An air-cooled two-cylinder two - stroke engine with a displacement of 700 cm³ provided the drive. The vehicle was front-wheel drive . The transmission had four gears. Few vehicles were sold. According to a source, it didn't go into series production. Another source states that it remained a unique piece.
