Automobiles Gateau was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The company belonged to Gateau International from Saint-Gilles-Croix-de-Vie . The location was on Rue Marcel Brunelière in Machecoul . In 1983 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was Gateau . The designer of the vehicles was Joël Brétecher. Production ended in 1992.

The company manufactured small cars, many of which were also suitable for the physically handicapped. The models on offer were Break , Egzo 3 , Egzo 7 , Forum , Grande , Maximini and Vison . Otto engines and diesel engines with 50 cm³ to 500 cm³ displacement were available for the drive . There was also the choice between two electric motors with 1.8 kW and 2.2 kW output. With a wheelbase of 165 cm, the vehicles were 236 cm long, 127 cm wide and weighed between 250 and 270 kg.
