Vernet et Pairard was a French manufacturer of automobiles .

Company history

The racing drivers Just-Émile Vernet and Jean Pairard founded the company in Paris in 1950 . In 1951 the production of automobiles began. The brand name was VP . Production ended in 1958.

vehicles

The first model was a record-breaking vehicle. It had an aerodynamic body and was based on the Renault 4 CV . The vehicle set eight records at the Autodrome de Linas-Montlhéry . Renault presented the vehicle in 1952 at the Paris Motor Show .

In addition, some road vehicles were built. The basis was initially the Renault 4 CV, later the Renault Dauphine . They were coupes with a low roof shape. The vehicles were also used in car races such as the Le Mans 24 Hours .
