Automobiles De La Chapelle is a French small series manufacturer of automobiles .

prehistory

The French Xavier De La Chapelle is a descendant of the family who started producing Frères et Compagnie automobiles in the same place in the company De la Chapelle from 1907 . In 1975 he founded Automobiles Stimula . In this company he manufactured vehicles between 1978 and 1982, which were marketed as Stimula .

In 1985 he founded the new company Automobiles De La Chapelle in Saint-Chamond near Lyon . The first model was based on the model of Stimula. The brand name is De La Chapelle . In 1996 it was renamed DLC Technologies and in 1997 Barré et Associés .

Road vehicles

De La Chapelle 55 Roadster

This model goes back to the model of Stimula. The model, which is still almost unchanged produced, is an open two-seater and resembles optically the Bugatti T55 of 1932. It is powered by a six-cylinder engine from BMW driven.

De La Chapelle 55 tourer

This model has been added to the range since 1990. It is an extended version of the De La Chapelle 55 Roadster and offers space for 2 + 2 people.

De La Chapelle Atalante 57 p

This model was presented at the 1992 Geneva Motor Show. With its coupé body, it is similar to the Bugatti 57 S Atalante from 1936.

De La Chapelle Grand Prix

This model was also introduced in 1992. It is similar to the Bugatti racing car from 1923. It is an open two-seater, which is also equipped with a BMW engine and is only produced to order.

Introduced in 1996, this model has been in production since 1998. It has a modern two-seat roadster -Karosserie the designer Bertrand Barré . There are four-cylinder engines with 1,998 cc displacement and six-cylinder engines with 2,946 cc displacement are used. The engines are built in transversely behind the seats, i.e. in a mid-engine design .

Concept vehicle

In 1988 the Parcours MPV was presented as a one -off , equipped with a V8 engine from Mercedes-Benz with a displacement of 5000 cc.

Children's cars

In 1979 the development of children's cars began. Since 1981 three such models, which are equipped with small four-stroke engines with a displacement of 169 cm³, have been offered and up to now almost 1,500 units have been produced:

  • 55 Junior, a miniature version of the Bugatti 55
  • 328 Junior, a miniature version of the BMW 328
  • 330 P2 Junior, a miniature version of the Ferrari 330 P2
