Roissy-en-Brie (until 1988 Roissy) is a French municipality with 22,994 inhabitants (at January 1, 2017) in the department of Seine-et-Marne in the region Ile-de-France . The inhabitants are called Roisséens .

geography

The municipality is located about 23 kilometers southeast of Paris . Neighboring municipalities are Croissy-Beaubourg in the north, Pontcarré in the east, Ozoir-la-Ferrière in the south, Pontault-Combault in the west and Émerainville in the northwest.

Transport links

The commune has a station on the Paris RER rapid transit network. It lies on the Paris-Mulhouse railway and is of the RER E served.

history

In 1810 Roissy-en-Brie was attached to the neighboring municipality of Pontcarré. On June 3, 1829 it became an independent municipality again.

Politics and administration

François Bouchart has been mayor since 2015.

Roissy-en-Brie is a partner of the municipalities of Barmstedt ( Schleswig-Holstein , since 1980) and Colwyn Bay in Wales (since 1986).
