Harkensee stone grave

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave Harkensee was a megalithic burial complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Harkensee , a district of Dassow in the district of Northwest Mecklenburg ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was destroyed before 1841. The exact location is not known. There is also no information about alignment and dimensions. It had a barren bed with a stone enclosure that had been removed some time before the complex was completely destroyed. The mound was very flat around 1841, but still recognizable. A burial chamber is not mentioned. It could therefore have been a chamberless giant bed , but the finding is uncertain and Ewald Schuldt led it as a large stone grave of an indeterminable type. In the destruction of the hills fill numerous human bones, some animal bones and were on the ground Feuerstein - ax found. The ax was given to the Association for Mecklenburg History and Archeology; its whereabouts are unclear.
