Bernardo José Nolker CSsR (born September 25, 1912 in Baltimore , USA , † January 17, 2000 in Saratoga Springs , New York ) was an American religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Paranaguá .

Life

Bernardo José Nolker joined the Congregation of the Redemptorists in and put on 2 August 1934, the profession from. On June 18, 1939, he received the sacrament of ordination .

Pope John XXIII appointed him on January 7, 1963 as the first bishop of the newly established diocese of Paranaguá . The Archbishop of Baltimore , Lawrence Shehan , ordained him episcopally on April 25 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Curitiba , Manuel da Silveira d'Elboux , and the Prelate of the Virgin Islands , Edward John Harper CSsR.

He took part in the second, third and fourth sessions of the Second Vatican Council as a Council Father.

On March 15, 1989, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
