description

At the south-west end, the small, south-west-north-east-oriented 6.4 meter long Emsland Chamber is better preserved. It consists of eight bearing stones, six of which are in situ . The largest of the four capstones is still there. One lies slipped in the bulging 1.8 to 1.6 meter wide chamber. At the west end there are two large fragments that belong to the same capstone. Access is lacking as is traces of a stone surround, but it should be a typical for the region passage grave act. However, there are remains of the former overhang. An illegal intervention in the chamber area in 1986 led to a partial examination of the grave, during which an intact paving was found. Shattered pottery was recovered from the complex and its surroundings , which allows the narrow conclusion that it was between 3400 and 3300 BC. BC and was used for about 300 years.

The Schmeersteine large stone grave and the large stones at Thölstedt are nearby .
