The Hermann mine is a former non-ferrous metal ore mine in the Bensberg ore district in Overath . It was found in the village of Oberbech in Steinenbrück .
history
The first suspicion of steel stone and copper ore by Mayor Pickhard zu Gummersbach and HH Arntz of Cologne comes from December 19, 1847, which was confirmed with a certificate of July 4, 1848. HH Arntz (without Pickhard) applied for a further mutation on April 3, 1849. On December 15, 1849, this resulted in a field inspection with simultaneous awarding of only iron ore. On November 13, 1850, Friedrich Hermanni was hired as shift supervisor. However, operations came to a standstill again in 1851. Several deadlines followed . On April 1, 1855, as a representative of the union of the Hermann mine, Hermanni applied for the award of copper and lead ores , which was obviously approved, but the file contains no corresponding information. On December 16, 1856, the Aggerthaler Kupferbergbau-Gesellschaft became the new owner. As early as March 9, 1856, an application for a time limit was submitted , which was repeated several times. The mining authority repeatedly approved the deferral . In a letter dated November 30, 1868, the mining authorities received notification that the "Hermann lead, copper and zinc mine" - how this term came about is unclear - had become the property of the businessman Carl Ennenbach zu Overath through public sale. In a protocol of January 27, 1874 about the swearing-in of Friedrich König as a product supervisor, the Hermann mine was designated as being awarded for lead and copper ore.
location
The tunnel mouth hole on the private property Oberbech 6 has broken. In the rear area you can see pinging from air holes . About 10 meters to the east is the Bavaria mine tunnel , which is shown together with the Hermann tunnel on a site map from 1868.
Plant and operation
The Herrmann mine was a length field , the location of which was in the square of the Arago mine . But it remained independent. Due to the clean-up law of December 16, 1954, the authoritative file of the Hermann mine was closed in 1963.
