The Schnettenberg nature reserve with a size of 3 hectares is located northwest of Eversberg in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan.

Area description

The NSG is the remains of a juniper heather with three areas. Part of the NSG has already become forest. A section is grazed, another area of the NSG is mowed.

Protection purpose

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
