NSG Drürerberg (2014)

The Drürerberg nature reserve with a size of 2.4 hectares is located south of Heinrichsthal in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan.

Area description

The NSG is a forest with rocks and rubble heaps on the ridge of the Drürerberg . Beeches with linden trees grow in the NSG . Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the forest with its species inventory.

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
