Hellenkrügel nature reserve

The Hellenkrügel nature reserve with a size of 1 hectare is located north of Schederberge in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan.

Area description

The NSG is a canyon forest with five to ten meter high moss-rich rocks on the northern slope of the Hellenkrügel . Sycamores predominantly grow in the canyon forest . Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the ravine forest with its floristic and fauna species inventory.
