Kanzenberg nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Kanzenberg with a size of 3.4 hectares is located southeast of Berge in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan.

Area description

The NSG is a canyon forest with rocks. Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the ravine forest with its species inventory.

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
