The Remberg nature reserve with a size of 1.8 hectares is located south of Wallen in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve in 1993 .

Area description

When nature reserve is a former slate - quarry on Remberg. In the quarry there is poor grassland, some of which are grazed. Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

Pioneer vegetation, bushes, dry and poor grasslands are to be preserved, as a habitat for numerous animal and plant species specializing in the rock type, within and in the edge zone of an abandoned quarry.
