Alert nature reserve

The nature reserve Alert with a size of 2 ha is located east of Schederberge in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan.

Area description

The NSG is the remains of a juniper heather . Part of the NSG has already become forest.

Protection purpose

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
