Hudeeichen nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Hudeeichen nature reserve with a size of 7.2 hectares is located west of Freienohl in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan. The NSG was included in the landscape plan as a temporary (temporary) fix. The route of the planned A 46 has already been entered in the landscape plan. The remnants of the NSG are now directly west of the A 46. The remaining area of the NSG is 5.06 hectares today.

Area description

The NSG is a pasture with old and large oak trees . Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the grassland with its species inventory.

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
