Kehling / Stuckerlen nature reserve

The nature reserve Kehling / Stuckerlen with a size of 14.5 hectares is located south of Wennemen in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan.

Area description

In the NSG there is a Schatthangwald, a former limestone quarry, hay meadows and the banks of the Ruhr .

Protection purpose

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
