Mildenberg nature reserve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The nature reserve Mildenberg with a size of 1.7 hectares is located southwest of Remblinghausen in the urban area of Meschede . The area was designated as a nature reserve (NSG) by the Hochsauerlandkreis in 1994 with the Meschede landscape plan.

Area description

The NSG is an oak forest on the northern slope of the Mildenberg (Meschede) . Rare animal and plant species are found in the NSG.

Protection purpose

The NSG is supposed to protect the oak forest with its species inventory.

As with all nature reserves in Germany, the protection designation pointed out that the area became a nature reserve “because of the rarity, special character and beauty of the area”.
