Claude Dario Conter (born March 31, 1974 in Luxembourg City , Grand Duchy of Luxembourg ) is a Luxembourgish Germanist and literary scholar .

Life

Conter passed his Abitur in 1993 at the Lycée Michel Rodange in Luxembourg. He then studied German and communication sciences at the Otto Friedrich University of Bamberg and at the Technical University of Berlin . His master's thesis from 1998 deals with the writer Bruno Apitz , the author of Nackt unter Wölfen . From 1999 to 2001 he worked for Wulf Segebrecht , the editor of the journal Footnotes on Literature . In 2003 he was visiting professor at Ghent University .

Conter was born in 2003 with a thesis on the subject of European productions in the 19th century. Europe images and ideas might between the Vienna Congress and Empire in the subject German Literature doctorate .

Alongside Germaine Goetzinger, Conter is the main author of the Luxembourg authors' dictionary, which was published in German in 2007 and in French in 2010. Since May 2012 he has been director of the Luxembourg Center national de littérature in Mersch .

Conter was appointed director of the Luxembourg National Library in May 2020 after Joanne Goebbels withdrew her candidacy.
