The Grundgraben is a right and western tributary of the Hambach in the Central Franconian districts of Ansbach and Weißenburg-Gunzenhausen .

The stream rises near a dirt road south of Goldbühl at an altitude of 454  m above sea level. NN . In sections it flows past the edge of some forest areas and feeds a chain of ponds. At its lower reaches it forms the border between the two districts in a short section. After a run of around 1.6 kilometers it flows out at an altitude of 436  m above sea level. NN northwest of Oberhambach from the right into the Hambach.
