In 1906 the company was converted into Gruschwitz Textilwerke AG , in whose management the Doherr (Doherr-Gruschwitz) and von Treskow families were also represented as Gruschwitz descendants. During the First World War, the Gruschwitz works employed over 3,500 people.

At the end of the Second World War , all Gruschwitz plants were in the area of influence of the Red Army and were expropriated as a Soviet joint-stock company without compensation. The last 4,000 employees were unemployed. With the help of some old employees, Franz Alexander Doherr-Gruschwitz opened a small thread production facility in Neu-Ulm, Bavaria, in initially rented rooms.
