Gudrun Marci-Boehncke
Gudrun Marci-Boehncke (born June 8, 1963 in Hilden ) is a German literary scholar and media researcher. She is professor for modern German literary studies / elementary communication and application aspects at the Technical University of Dortmund .
Life
Marci-Boehncke studied German and history at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . She completed her studies in 1987 with the first state examination for teaching at grammar schools. Afterwards she was in Washington, DC from 1989 to 1990 , where she took over a professorship at George Washington University . From 1992 she was a research assistant at the Institute for Didactics of German Language and Literature at the Justus Liebig University in Giessen. In 1994 she started working on the German-Jewish writer Fanny Lewald with the title Fanny Lewald - Jüdin, Prussin, Writer. PhD studies on autobiographical work and context .
In October 1999 she took on the Max Kade Distinguished Visitor visiting professorship at Colorado College in Colorado Springs , Colorado , USA. In 2001 she was offered a professorship for modern German literature and its didactics / children's and youth literature at the Ludwigsburg University of Education . Since 2010 she has been Professor of Modern German Literature / Elementary Mediation and Acquisition Processes in Dortmund, where she heads the Youth - Media - Education research center .
Gudrun Marci-Boehncke has three children and is married to the philosopher and media ethicist Matthias Rath .

Marci-Boehncke deals scientifically with reading and media research, reading promotion and media literacy promotion as well as questions of children and young people using media. In addition, she works actively in the field of mediation of media skills for multipliers in school and outside of school (e.g. libraries).
