Gudrun Scholz (* 1947 in Bremen ) is a German art scholar and professor of design theory at the University of Hanover . Her research focuses on industrial design , photography and communication design (especially labels).

Life

Gudrun Scholz first studied literature , linguistics , art history , philosophy and aesthetics at the University of Hamburg and the University of Stuttgart . In 1980 she became a part of the Art History department at the University of Duisburg Comprehensive University on the subject of compositional principles of aesthetic signs on a semiotic basis. Analyzes of Nathalie Sarraute and René Magritte doctorate .

During her activities as an editor for radio plays from 1979 to 1981 at the South German Radio in Stuttgart Scholz started in parallel from 1980 to 1999 and its activities as a curator of exhibitions.

Meanwhile, Gudrun Scholz worked from 1983 to 1985 as a member of the board of the Deutscher Werkbund , Landesverband Niedersachsen / Bremen. She then worked from 1985 to 1989 as an advertising copywriter and developed concepts for various advertising agencies in Hamburg and Düsseldorf, while at the same time she held a visiting professorship for design theory at the Berlin University of the Arts from 1987 to 1988 . At the Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, she worked in the same subject from 1988 to 1990, initially as a substitute professor, then there until 1999 as a C2 professor . At the same time, from 1994 to 1998, Scholz repeatedly worked as an expert for the classification of artistic activities at the Hamburg Finance Court.

Since 1999 she has been teaching as C3 professor at the University of Hanover, Faculty III - Media, Information and Design.
