Gudrun Weyel

Gudrun Weyel (* 19th May 1927 in Berlin , † 16th May 2011 in Wörrstadt ) was a German politician of the SPD .

Weyel graduated from high school in Breslau in 1944 . After the end of the Second World War , she moved to Diez . She completed a rural home economics course and a rural women’s school . From 1952 to 1954 she worked as an agriculture teacher and economic advisor in the Chamber of Agriculture of Hessen-Nassau . Then she taught from 1956 to 1980 at vocational schools in Hofheim am Taunus and Limburg an der Lahn .

She joined the SPD in 1963. From 1969 to 2009 she was a member of the city ​​council of her hometown Diez. From 1980 to 1994 she was a member of the German Bundestag . From 1987 to 1994 she acted as the parliamentary manager of her group. Weyel was always elected to the Bundestag via the Rhineland-Palatinate state list .

She died in May 2011 a few days before her 84th birthday.
