The Guesalaga Peninsula ( Spanish Península Comodoro Guesalaga ) is a small, low and pebble- covered peninsula of Greenwich Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It is the location of the Chilean Arturo Prat station at Iquique Cove .
The peninsula is named after Federico Guesalaga Toro, head of the First Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1946–1947), during which the Arturo Prat station was built.
