Gulnara Samitova-Galkina ( Russian Гульнара Искандеровна Галкина , born Самитова - Samitowa, Engl. Transcription Samitova * 9. July 1978 in Naberezhnye Chelny ) is a Russian obstacle , Central and long-distance runner and Olympic champion .

Life

At the World Athletics Championships in 2003 in Paris / Saint-Denis, she was seventh in the 5000 meter run and sixth over the same distance at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. In addition, she was at the World Indoor Athletics Championships in Budapest in 2004 third in the 1500 meter run .

On August 10, 2003 at the Russian Athletics Championships in Tula , she set a world record of 9: 08.35 minutes in the 3,000-meter obstacle course, which she undercut on July 4, 2004 in 9: 01.59 minutes.
