history

The place was first mentioned in 1158 as Humbelshaim in a traditional note from the Dießen monastery . Over the past centuries, however, the name of the wasteland has changed several times: Humbelsham (1242) or Humpelsham (1362). The cadastre from 1809 uses the name Gumpelsheim and in its revised version from 1864 the silence is then already called Gumpertsham.
