Walchstatt is a district of the Upper Bavarian municipality of Sauerlach in the district of Munich .
The hamlet is located on the the Otter Loher wood traversing Otter Loherstraße, about 400 meters south of Brunnthaler community part Otterloh . It was created in the period after the Second World War and only became an officially named part of the community after 1987.
Attractions
The Roman military road from Augsburg ( Augusta Vindelicorum ) to Salzburg ( Iuvavum ) , known today as Via Julia , passed around 600 meters south of the village .
