Gunnar Tallberg, who was a member of the Nyländska Jaktklubben , took part in the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm in the 8-meter class as a crew member of the Lucky Girl . At the regatta taking place in Nynäshamn , the Finnish boat and the Swedish Sans Atout achieved second place in a total of two races, so that there was a tie-off between these two boats, in which the Sans Atout prevailed. Tallberg thus received the bronze medal alongside the other crew members Arthur Ahnger , Emil Lindh and Georg Westling . The Lucky Girl was skippered by his brother Bertil Tallberg .

In addition to Bertil Tallberg, numerous other Tallberg family members were also active in Olympic sailing regattas. His great-nephews Henrik , Johan and Peter Tallberg also sailed at Olympia, as did Mathias Tallberg , the son of Peter Tallberg.
