Gunter Hartung (born April 22, 1942 in Bad Lauterberg ) is a German radio and television journalist, author and pilot.

Life

Gunter Hartung has been a reporter , editor and presenter for NDR radio since 1967 , and for television since 1980 . In 1978 he acquired a private pilot license (PPL) and specialized in aviation . He became head of the specialist editorial teams for research and technology as well as features and special programs and was responsible for the show Schaufenster Himmel in the ( ARD ) during the ILA until 1990 . In addition, he contributed to the series Countries, People, Adventures of the third ARD programs such as Wantok Baja - (encounters in Papua New Guinea) and Fire Tail in the Rainforest (contrasts in French Guiana ). In French Guiana, he barely survived the seaplane crash .

Hartung made around 40 documentaries in Papua New Guinea , China , USA , Europe , Africa , South America and the South Seas , where he portrayed the then King of Tonga in 2001 .
