Gunter Sonneson
Gunter Sonneson (born May 18, 1943 in Lauchhammer ) is a German film and theater actor , entertainer and singer .
Life
Sonneson comes from a family of miners. At school, his music teacher persuaded him to sing in the school choir. In addition to musical education and singing lessons, Sonneson also took accordion and guitar lessons. First appearances as a chanson and pop singer followed. After attending school, he began his career as an autodidact at the Theater Neue Bühne in Senftenberg . He soon took private lessons as an actor and began studying singing as an external student at the Hanns Eisler Academy of Music in Berlin . He graduated from this in 1970 as a singing actor.
He received u. a. an engagement at the stages of the city of Zwickau and at the Metropoltheater in Berlin. In addition, he was also active for television in the GDR . He presented the popular Saturday evening show Ein Kessel Buntes several times . In the 1980s, Sonneson spoke the character of Kniffo in the puppet show series Das Spielhaus .
As in May , Sonneson came to Munich as a guest for a staging of the Walter Kollo opera co-produced by the Metropoltheater and the Munich State Theater on Gärtnerplatz . During the probationary period, director Hellmuth Matiasek offered him a permanent move to the ensemble of the State Theater. Since 1994 Sonneson was a member of the State Theater on Gärtnerplatz. Guest appearances have taken him to the Halle Opera House , the Musical Comedy in Leipzig , the Meininger Theater and the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden . In 2009, Sonneson directed the play My Fair Lady at the Freie Landestheater Bayern , in which he also played the role of Higgins . In 2012 Sonneson celebrated its 50th anniversary on stage. His engagement at the State Theater ended in May 2012. From September 2012 to June 2013 he was engaged at Stage Entertainment and performed as Otto Staudach at Theater 11 in Zurich in the musical " I've never been to New York ". In 2014 he played the pastor in “ The Visit of the Old Lady ” at the United Theater in Vienna . Since 2015 he has been playing Otto Staudach in the Stage Tour production of I've never been to New York again.
In addition to the theater, Sonneson appears in solo programs as an entertainer with a mixture of word, music and show.
Sonneson is married and has two sons. He lives in Eggersdorf in Brandenburg .
